“Navigating the Climate‑Health‑Migration Nexus: A Forum for Bridging Policy, Research, and Action in MENA”, is a forum hosted by AUB’s Cli‑Health Program in partnership with IOM.
The forum brings together government bodies, UN agencies, researchers, health professionals, and civil society actors to discuss how climate change, health, and migration interconnect in the MENA region—and to bridge gaps between policy, research, and implementation. It builds on AUB’s Cli‑Health Program, launched in October 2024, which already explores climate impacts on health, especially among vulnerable MENA populations
The Key Themes & Objectives:
Asses how climate-driven migration affects health systems and vulnerable communities, including gender-based and social inequities.
Enable multi-sectoral dialogue to align research outputs with policy and practice in areas like health system resilience and migration management.
Officially sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between GHI AUB and IOM MENA—marking a formal collaboration to drive regional climate-health-migration efforts
What to Expect
It will feature panel discussions with regional and international experts and will include the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AUB GHI and IOM Regional Office for MENA, establishing a formal partnership to advance coordinated action. The event will be broadcast live via Zoom.
