


The 6th AP Forum will take place from 26 to 29 August 2025 in Nadi, Republic of Fiji. The Forum is jointly organized by the Government of Fiji’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It provides a platform for governments, intergovernmental organizations, and other stakeholders to discuss and prioritize environmental issues across the Asia-Pacific region, contributing to the seventh session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-7), taking place from 8 to 12 December 2025 in Nairobi, under the theme “Advancing sustainable solutions for a resilient planet.”
Mission & Objectives
Strengthening Regional Cooperation: Reviewing implementation progress of UNEA resolutions, assessing regional environmental initiatives, and identifying emerging challenges and priorities.
Informing Policy & Action: Providing an Asia-Pacific perspective to guide decision-making at UNEA-7, contributing to ministerial statements, draft resolutions, and outcome documents.
Promoting Collaboration: Connecting governments, UN agencies, civil society, and regional stakeholders to enhance environmental governance and delivery on the SDGs.
Key Features
Regional Review: Assessing progress of UNEA resolutions and other regional environmental initiatives, including the Asia Pacific Clean Air Partnership, Asia Pacific Adaptation Network, and the Asia-Pacific Regional Forum on Environment and Health.
Interactive Sessions: Engaging stakeholders in discussions, panels, and consultations to inform UNEP’s Medium-term Strategy (2026–2029) and Programme of Work (2026–2027).
Contribution to UNEA-7: Drafting recommendations, statements, and resolutions to strengthen global environmental governance.
Inclusive Participation: Offering Member States and stakeholders a platform to share insights and shape environmental policy in a respectful and safe environment.
