FOREIGN POLICY’S TECH AND AI FORUM @ UNGA80
Description

Foreign Policy’s Tech & AI Forum @ UNGA80 (“Turning Complexity into Strategy”) will be held on 23 September 2025, from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM EDT, in New York, NY (Studio Gather, 45 Rockefeller Plaza), with hybrid attendance (in-person & virtual). The Forum brings together decision-makers, industry experts, regulators, and policy leaders to address how AI and technology can be leveraged in an era of increasing geopolitical and technological fragmentation.

Mission & Objectives:

• Build strategy amid complexity: help leaders translate emerging tech challenges (e.g. supply chain disruptions, regulatory divergence) into actionable policy and investment strategies.
• Promote inclusive digital infrastructure: explore how to expand access, ensure underserved populations and regions benefit, and reduce the digital divide.
• Develop resilient supply chains for tech: ensure that global tech and AI value chains are less prone to disruption and geopolitical risk.
• Invest in skills & regulation: discuss workforce development, public policy frameworks, trust & governance for AI and tech.

Key Features:

• High-level dialogues & panels with global and regional experts addressing both risk and opportunity in AI/tech landscape.
• Hybrid format (in-person & virtual) with networking and reception moments.
• Focus on practical strategy: cooperation projects, partnerships that bridge gaps (digital, regulatory, skills) across countries and sectors.

At a Glance:

This Forum is a key UNGA80 side-event designed to help international actors make sense of complex technological shifts—turning AI’s promise into governed, inclusive, strategic outcomes. It emphasises bridging divides (digital, regulatory, capacity), safeguarding resilience in tech supply chains, and ensuring that benefits of technology are equitably shared.
