GENEVA (Enmaeya News) — The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has launched a new AI skills hub to address the growing demand for artificial intelligence expertise. With AI projected to create 170 million jobs but displace 92 million by 2030, reskilling and continuous learning are crucial.

Unveiled by ITU’s AI for Good team on March 4, the platform offers a digital AI skills library and curated courses from top educational initiatives, UN partners, and researchers. The initiative aligns with ITU’s AI Skills Coalition, which includes more than 30 public and private partners aiming to train 10,000 individuals by year-end.

The hub supports global efforts in skills anticipation, reskilling, and upskilling to prepare workforces for AI-driven industries. It will also contribute to UN-led AI certification and standardized AI competencies, offering customized training for government officials, diplomats, and tech professionals.

By fostering collaboration, the AI Skills Coalition aims to set global benchmarks for AI education and ensure AI benefits are widely shared.
