BEIRUT (Enmaeya News) – Lebanon’s Public Works, Transport, Energy, and Water Committee met on Tuesday with Energy Minister Joe Saddi to discuss the country’s growing risk of water shortages amid low rainfall and worsening drought conditions.
The committee agreed on urgent measures focused on water conservation and reducing waste. Saddi said the ministry would roll out an emergency response plan and hold a workshop in the coming weeks to develop practical strategies.
MP Sagih Atieh called for the mobilization of resources to avoid severe disruption, while the ministry said it was coordinating with regional water authorities to prepare for a challenging summer.
