Lebanon (Enmaeya News) — A Lebanese team has claimed first place at "Cyber Games 2025," the first global competition of its kind in the field of cybersecurity. Held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the event brought together more than 140 participants from 50 countries.

Led by cybersecurity expert Assem Awad, “Team Blue” outperformed global competitors over four days of intense technical challenges. The competition included digital investigations, cybercrime simulations, and advanced ethical hacking tasks.

Lebanon’s team ranked ahead of Ukraine’s TSIX team, which placed second, and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Firewalls, which came in third.

The competition featured real-world cybercrime scenarios, including tracking cryptocurrencies used in illegal activities, analyzing ransomware attacks, extracting and interpreting digital evidence, and identifying attackers using open-source tools.

This victory marks a milestone in Lebanon’s participation in such events. While the team previously placed second at Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference (GISEC), this is Lebanon’s first time taking home the gold on a global cybersecurity stage.

Event organizers praised the Lebanese team’s professionalism, stating that the win highlights Lebanon’s often-overlooked potential in cybersecurity and showcases the country’s talent in navigating modern digital threats.
