Beirut, Lebanon (Enmaeya News) — A key event highlighting gender equality efforts in Lebanon will take place on Tuesday, June 17 at 4:00 p.m. at Le Gabriel Hotel in Beirut, bringing together policymakers, researchers, and international development leaders.

The event will center on the official launch of "The Gender Handbook in Lebanon", a new resource aimed at supporting gender mainstreaming across public policy, development work, and social programs.

The program opens with a presentation by publisher Ramzi El Hafez and lead researcher Jennifer Abu Mrad, offering insights into the handbook’s structure, research basis, and envisioned impact.

Following the presentation, a panel discussion will bring together notable figures in the field, including:

  • H.E. Haneen Sayed, Minister of Social Affairs

  • Gielan El Messiri, UN Women Representative in Lebanon

  • Blerta Aliko, UNDP Resident Representative in Lebanon

  • Lina Abou Habib, Director of the Asfari Institute at AUB

The panel will be moderated by Lamia Moubayed, the President of the Institute of Finance at Basil Fuleihan

The event is expected to foster dialogue on gender-sensitive policymaking and strengthen cooperation among institutions working toward a more equitable Lebanon.
