Beirut, Lebanon (Enmaeya News) — Lebanon has officially joined the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management. This important international treaty sets rules for safely handling and storing radioactive materials.
By joining, Lebanon shows its commitment to nuclear safety and managing used fuel and radioactive waste in a safe way, following global standards.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) welcomed Lebanon’s decision, calling it a good step toward protecting the environment and ensuring safety for the long term.
