Enmaeya News - Lebanon’s Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nassereddine, has approved full medical coverage for all individuals injured in the August 4, 2020, Beirut Port explosion, according to state media reports. This measure ensures that survivors receive complete financial support for ongoing treatment, including hospital stays, surgical procedures, and rehabilitation services.

The decision was publicly shared via the Health Ministry’s communication channels, highlighting the government's commitment to supporting victims nearly five years after the devastating explosion that injured thousands and overwhelmed healthcare facilities.

The Ministry of Health has not yet released a detailed rollout plan or confirmed whether the policy will cover medical expenses incurred since 2020.

Although financial projections are still pending, officials emphasize that this policy aims to ease the economic burden faced by blast survivors and their families.

The move comes amid renewed attention to Lebanon’s public healthcare coverage and may serve as a model for expanding the country’s Universal Health Insurance initiative.

This commitment underscores Lebanon’s efforts to prioritize long-term recovery and access to care for those affected by the blast.
