After a six-year pause, Lebanon’s much-loved Night of Museums is officially making a comeback. Organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Directorate General of Antiquities (DGA), the event will take place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., offering free access to museums across the country.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the National Library in Sanayeh, where Culture Minister Ghassan Salameh shared details of the event. He noted that this initiative, which he first launched 20 years ago during his earlier term, is a celebration of “memory, transmission, and beauty.”
Minister Salameh also revealed that two new museums are currently under construction—one in Sour, expected to open next year, and another in Saida, set to be ready in two to three years. In a light moment, he joked, “Those who visit the Banque du Liban Museum might find their money there,” alluding to the financial crisis and the funds that have been frozen in banks since 2019.
