Beirut, Lebanon (Enmaeya News) — The Ministry of Tourism has just rolled out the innovative "Ministry of Tourism Lebanon" mobile app, an AI-powered tourism platform engineered to integrate and enhance the country’s digital travel experience.

Unlike traditional singular apps, this smart tool does not replace existing tourism applications; rather, it links them together, offering users, residents, and visitors alike a seamless, unified directory of tourist sites powered by OpenAI's language model.

During the app’s unveiling, Minister of State for Technology and AI, Kamal Shehadeh, highlighted its role as a personalized assistant: users can simply ask, “What should I do in Tripoli today between 10 AM and 4 PM?” or “How do I plan a five-day itinerary suitable for kids aged 10–14?” and receive tailored recommendations.

Minister of Tourism, Laura Lahoud, emphasized that this tool isn’t meant to compete with private initiatives. “Our goal is to complement and elevate them,” she explained, pointing out that the app can map archaeological sites, hiking routes, guesthouses, and religious destinations across Lebanon.

Powered by AI, the interface operates in English, but it responds to users in their preferred language. The app draws from a growing database of 2,400 tourism-specific sites, a number expected to expand over time.

Further enabling small and medium tourism businesses, the app allows them to add information about their services directly, thus reaching wider audiences. “We aim to simplify life for both citizens and tourists in Lebanon,” stated Shehadeh.

The new AI-driven app offers a smart, integrated gateway for exploring Lebanon, highlighting national heritage and supporting local tourism through innovation and cooperation.
