Beirut, Lebanon (Enmaeya News) — For the first time in Lebanon, aspiring Montessori teachers can join a professional training course led by international AMI experts. Designed by Maria Montessori, the course is respected worldwide and offers educators a new approach to understanding children and the learning process.
Application Process
Applicants must complete an online application form, which includes uploading supporting documents. Some applicants may be asked to participate in an online interview. Successful candidates will be offered a place in the course.
English Language Requirement
A strong command of English, both written and spoken, is required. Participants may be asked to provide an English language qualification to demonstrate their ability to succeed in the course.
Earning the Qualification
To earn the AMI Diploma, participants must attend at least 90% of all lectures and sessions and take part in scheduled Supervised Practice. They are also required to complete Montessori material-making to a satisfactory standard, submit completed albums and materials, and carry out classroom observations.
In addition, participants must complete a teaching practicum, which will be evaluated by the trainer or the school’s lead teacher, and pass both written and oral examinations.
Teaching Practice Placement
Montessori for Lebanon arranges teaching practice placements. While applicants’ locations are considered, specific school requests generally cannot be accommodated. Non-Lebanese participants may arrange practice at a local school with an AMI-trained Lead Teacher, pending approval from the training director.
Blended Course Structure
The two-year blended course mirrors the content of AMI 3-6 Diploma courses offered worldwide but combines online modules with in-person modules in Lebanon. Online modules run three evenings a week from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., with occasional Saturday mornings added. In-person modules are held Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Scholarship Opportunities
Interested participants may apply for a scholarship by completing the Scholarship Application form. Applicants must submit a personal statement detailing their passion for Montessori, examples from their experience, and short- and long-term career plans. Selected candidates will be invited for an online interview.
Career Support and Professional Network
AMI diploma holders are highly sought after in Lebanon and internationally. Montessori for Lebanon shares school and external job vacancies with students. Diploma holders also gain access to ongoing professional support, including mentoring, a community of practice, and professional development opportunities.
