Beirut, Lebanon (Enmaeya News) — A Lebanese initiative is transforming recycled local glass into mosaic art, combining creativity with environmental responsibility.

EcoArt Mosaic engages thousands of participants, from students and families to environmental clubs, in hands-on workshops. Since its launch, more than 1,000 people have taken part, and the project has formed over 30 partnerships with schools, universities, and businesses.

Unlike traditional mosaic-making, which often relies on imported or non-recyclable materials, EcoArt Mosaic uses locally sourced glass, natural sand, and gypsum. Each piece reduces landfill waste, limits the need for new resources, and promotes environmental awareness.

The initiative has expanded through the Mosaic Arts Box, an educational DIY kit that includes tools, eco-friendly materials, and information about recycling. Designed for all ages, the kit allows participants to turn sustainability into a hands-on creative experience.

EcoArt Mosaic has also extended into eco-tourism, partnering with local agencies to showcase Lebanon’s cultural heritage through green art experiences. From school workshops to tourist activities, the project demonstrates how artistic expression can support a sustainable future.

By making recycling accessible, meaningful, and fun, EcoArt Mosaic raises awareness while creating a model for community-based sustainability—one glass piece at a time.
