Geneva, Switzerland (Enmaeya News) — The International Labour Organization (ILO) is set to release a landmark report assessing global progress and challenges in achieving social justice, thirty years after the 1995 World Summit for Social Development (WSSD) in Copenhagen. The report comes ahead of the second WSSD in Doha this November.
The study provides the most comprehensive evaluation to date, tracking advances in poverty reduction, child labour, and social protection, while highlighting areas where progress has slowed, such as informal work and inequality.
It also proposes a forward-looking agenda for placing social justice at the heart of policymaking across finance, industry, health, and climate, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between governments, international institutions, and social partners.
The report will be officially launched at a high-level event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 23 September, during the Eightieth Session of the UN General Assembly.
