
Beirut, Lebanon (Enmaeya News) — A decision was made to implement a series of measures to tackle the growing waste crisis in Beirut.
The announcement followed a meeting at the Grand Serail attended by top government and municipal officials, including Minister of Interior and Municipalities Brig. Gen. Ahmad Al-Hajjar, Internal Security Forces Director Gen. Raed Abdullah, Beirut Police Commander Brig. Gen. Imad Al-Jamal, Governor of Beirut Judge Marwan Abboud, and Beirut Mayor Ibrahim Zaidan.
Representatives from Ramco Company were also present: Chairman Wassim Ammash, General Manager Walid Bousaad, and Deputy General Manager Rabih Ammash.
Among the measures adopted were issuing clear instructions to ensure adherence to waste disposal schedules, increasing the number of waste containers across neighborhoods, monitoring scavengers by municipal police, and banning the dumping of carcasses and animal waste outside designated areas.
Officials emphasized the government’s commitment to improving public hygiene and municipal services in the capital.
