The Third Global Report on Climate and SDG Synergies (2025) was launched on 24–25 September on the sidelines of the UNGA High-Level Week. The report, prepared by the Expert Group on Climate and SDG Synergies, highlights the scale of opportunities that coordinated action can unlock.

According to the report, aligning efforts across climate and sustainable development goals can maximize limited resources, minimize trade-offs, and generate multiple social, economic, and environmental co-benefits.

The evidence draws on three thematic reports from the Synergy Solutions 2025 series—focusing on disaster and climate insurance, nature, and health and cities—which were launched during the 2025 High-Level Political Forum (HLPF). These reports provide practical entry points for synergistic action.

Experts emphasized that the report’s insights are timely as countries prepare to submit the next generation of national climate plans (NDC 3.0) and ahead of COP30, both critical milestones for shaping the global climate agenda.
