Beirut (Enmaeya News)- October 3, 2025

Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Bisat told the representatives of donor countries and international institutions in a meeting at the ministry on Wednesday that Lebanon’s GDP is expected to grow by 5% in 2025.

The attendees included diplomats from countries like Germany, France and Italy, along with representatives from international organizations like the European Investment Bank and the International Monetary Fund, according to the ministry's statement on Thursday.

The discussions involved Lebanon’s recent economic progress, priority areas where international support is needed and programs to support SMEs, enhance foreign trade, and protect consumers.

Minister Bisat told the representatives that 2025 is expected to be the strongest year for Lebanon’s economy since 2011, based on signs of recovery and efforts to attract investment.

The latest World Bank report also forecasts a 4.7% real GDP growth for Lebanon in 2025. However, it emphasizes that this depends on Lebanon’s political stability and its ability to fully implement reforms.

The minister also highlighted the upcoming “Beirut 1” Investor Conference, which aims to attract investors, especially those from the Lebanese diaspora and Arab countries.

Bisat stressed Lebanon’s commitment to “restore confidence and lay the foundation for long-term growth", while the representatives expressed their support for Lebanon’s recovery.

While challenges remain, including political uncertainties and the need for reform, the signs of progress and international support offer hope for a better economic outlook in 2025.
