Lebanon's Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nasreddine, has launched a national nutrition guide aimed at supporting pregnant and breastfeeding women.
This initiative, developed in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Lebanese Dietitians Syndicate, and the Nutrition Sector, seeks to standardize health messages and promote essential practices during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The guide addresses concerning health issues among Lebanese women, including high rates of anemia and limited access to nutritional supplements.
Dr. Nasreddine emphasized that investing in maternal health is an investment in Lebanon's future. The Ministry of Public Health plans to implement the guide nationwide through primary healthcare centers.
The launch of this guide underscores the government's commitment to improving maternal health and ensuring that women receive the necessary nutritional support during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
