BEIRUT (Enmaeya News) - October 12, 2025
The Beirut Port Authority announced in a statement that the CMA Beirut Terminal has received International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code compliance certification, following a successful audit.
In an official statement, the Port Authority said the certification was granted after the terminal successfully met all necessary security requirements and received formal approval from the relevant authorities.
“This achievement comes within the framework of ongoing cooperation between the Beirut Port Authority and CMA Beirut Terminal,” the statement noted.
CMA Beirut Terminal is the container terminal at the Port of Beirut operated by CMA CGM, a major global shipping and logistics company.
The ISPS Code, established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), sets global standards for the security of ships and port facilities. Compliance with the code is considered essential for ports engaged in international maritime trade.
The Port Authority emphasized that "this international accreditation represents a crucial step in the development of the port, improving its security and operational performance in line with safety and sustainability requirements in the global maritime transport sector."
Port officials said the certification reinforces Beirut Port’s status as a reliable and efficient regional hub, in line with international best practices in maritime security.
The move is expected to boost confidence among international shipping companies and trading partners operating through Beirut.
