LEBANON (Enmaeya News) - October 8, 2025
Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Rima Karamy chaired the third regular meeting of the Local Education Group (L.E.G) on October 2, according to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The meeting brought together senior ministry officials, representatives from UNESCO, the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), United Nations agencies, embassies, and donor organizations.
The meeting focused on advancing education reforms and mobilizing resources to improve learning quality and equality in Lebanon.
Minister Karamy highlighted the national campaign launched to support public schools, involving 164 school directors, as part of efforts to rebuild trust in the public education sector.
Karamy emphasized that sector planning must be based on evidence and data to enhance coordination.
She reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to making “good learning” the core of education reform through stronger planning, administration, and funding.
The minister explained that progress has been made since the establishment of a local expert team in early 2025 to improve collaboration among education stakeholders.
Karamy stressed that the upcoming partnership charter with the GPE, set for 2026, will reflect shared principles, including inclusive dialogue and planning.
“Our goal is clear,” she said. “To build an education system where every child in Lebanon, regardless of background, has access to quality and equitable learning opportunities.”
