Dr. Elise Noujeim, Advisor to the Minister of Environment, held a meeting with members of the Qeema Waste Valorization Cluster to discuss cooperation between the public and private sectors in advancing environmental sustainability.
The meeting focused on improving sustainable waste management and resource recovery efforts in Lebanon.
The Qeema Cluster is implemented by Berytech, and the discussion centered on how the Ministry of Environment (MoE) can support and collaborate with the private sector initiative.
Dr. Noujeim and the cluster members explored potential areas of partnership aimed at transforming waste from a liability into a valuable resource, supporting Lebanon’s transition toward a circular economy.
The discussions highlighted the strategic importance of private sector innovation in tackling national environmental challenges.
Dr. Noujeim emphasized that the MoE seeks to enhance collaboration with private sector-led programs like the one implemented by Berytech to ensure that policy aligns with on-the-ground implementation.
The goal is to maximize resource recovery and establish modern, efficient waste management systems across the country.
