LEBANON (Enmaeya News) - October 18, 2025
The National Council for Scientific Research - Lebanon (CNRS Lebanon) conducted a two-day hands-on training in Tyre to enhance local skills in GIS, remote sensing, and agricultural field surveys.
The training is part of the project “Empowering Women in the Agricultural Sector in the Aftermath of War,” supported by UN Women.
Participants learned to interpret satellite imagery to assess war-related damage in villages, use crowdsourcing tools like the 123Survey platform for collecting and visualizing field data, and apply agricultural inspection methods for rural areas and municipal unions.
The initiative aims to equip women, farmers, municipalities, and local communities with advanced scientific tools to better understand their environment, evaluate damages, and make informed decisions for recovery and sustainable development.
CNRS Lebanon emphasized its commitment to bridging the gap between research and practical solutions, fostering resilience and inclusive, data-driven approaches for Lebanon’s future.
