Minister of Agriculture: Fish Stock Strong Despite Challenges
Minister Hani affirms Lebanon’s fish stocks remain healthy despite ongoing challenges in the Mediterranean.

LEBANON (Enmaeya News) - October 22, 2025
Minister of Agriculture Dr. Nizar Hani shared photos on his X account of his meeting with the research vessel team from Turkey, which conducts regular assessments of Lebanon’s fish stocks. The evaluation is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Agriculture, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM), and the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS).
He commented: “Lebanon’s fish stock is healthy despite all the challenges facing our Mediterranean waters. This assessment has been conducted for the fourth time in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025”.
