The inspections aim to assess compliance with environmental permits.
LEBANON (Enmaeya News) - October 22, 2025
With the start of the olive harvest season, technical teams from the Litani River Authority (LRA), in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, began inspections of olive mills within the upper Litani River basin.
The inspections aim to monitor the disposal of olive mill wastewater and assess compliance with environmental permits.
Results indicate that most mills previously classified as polluting have now rectified their environmental practices and are properly treating industrial wastewater.
This represents a significant step forward in efforts to reduce pollution in the Litani River during the 2025 olive season.
