LEBANON (Enmaeya News) - October 23, 2025
Lebanon’s monthly inflation rate remained under 1% for the second month in a row, showing continued price stability despite ongoing economic challenges.
According to the Central Administration of Statistics (CAS), consumer prices rose by 0.6% in September, compared to 0.56% in August.
The annual inflation rate, however, climbed to 15.06%, up slightly from 14.17% the previous month.
The steepest monthly increases were seen in recreation and culture (1.27%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.23%), and transport (1.04%).
Most other sectors saw smaller rises, while telecommunications recorded the only yearly decline, down 0.45%.
By region, Mount Lebanon registered the highest monthly rise in consumer prices at 0.9%, followed by Bekaa (0.69%), Nabatiyeh (0.64%), Beirut (0.27%), South Lebanon (0.22%), and the North (0.16%).
According to L'Orient Today, analysts say the recent slowdown in inflation reflects the relative stability of the Lebanese pound, which has remained steady for nearly two years after losing about 98% of its value between 2019 and 2023.
However, they caution that prices remain high compared to global levels due to weak competition and the dominance of a few large market players.
The persistence of high annual inflation highlights the country’s ongoing struggle to achieve lasting economic recovery.
