The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has begun installing reflective markers (road studs) on the central barrier of the international highway stretching from Hazmieh – Aley – Sawfar – Dhour El-Baïdar, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety standards on heavily trafficked vital roads.

In a statement, the ministry said the goal of the project is to improve safety and provide clearer visibility for drivers, particularly during nighttime, fog, and adverse weather conditions, which are common in the mountainous areas along this route.

Technical teams started the work at the Al-Ashrafieh Bridge area opposite City Center, heading toward the Sawfar Bridge. The work will continue until the entire targeted section is completed within the scheduled timeframe.

The ministry confirmed that the project will not require closing any lanes or rerouting traffic, as the work is being carried out in a carefully planned manner to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow.

Drivers have been urged to exercise caution, follow instructions from Internal Security Forces personnel, and comply with all signs and guidance at the work site to ensure public safety and avoid congestion or potential accidents.
