The eight jewels stolen from the Louvre on October 19 remain missing, a Paris prosecutor confirmed on Wednesday.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft. They have partially admitted their roles, though their statements are limited, according to Reuters.
One was caught at Charles de Gaulle Airport while trying to board a flight to Algeria. The other was already under legal supervision at the time of his arrest.
Authorities believe the heist involved four people. Two entered the Louvre using a stolen elevator truck and a ladder, then broke a window to reach the gallery with the crown jewels.
Meanwhile, the other two acted as getaway drivers on scooters. The entire robbery reportedly took less than eight minutes.
Inside the museum, weaknesses in surveillance and delays in responding to the heist have raised questions about security.
At least two suspects remain at large, and efforts continue across France and internationally via agencies like Interpol.
