A coordination meeting was held bringing together the Ministries of Environment, Interior and Municipalities, Industry, Economy and Trade, Public Health, and Energy and Water to discuss the update of Lebanon’s National Solid Waste Management Strategy.

The meeting was described as constructive and interactive, reflecting a strong sense of collaboration among the participating ministries.

Discussions focused on translating the updated strategy into practical measures, strengthening institutional coordination, activating the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system, and encouraging the use of innovation and technology in waste treatment and recycling.

Participants agreed on the importance of collective responsibility and cross-sectoral cooperation to ensure effective implementation of the strategy and to advance sustainable waste management practices that safeguard both the environment and public health.
