The Ministry of Agriculture announced in a statement today that, as part of its monitoring duties and ongoing efforts to protect food safety and ensure the quality of agricultural production across Lebanese regions, the Ministry — under the direction of the competent public prosecutor and with the support of security forces — carried out decisive field measures that included the destruction of entire harvests from several violating fields.

This action followed laboratory test results showing that the crops failed to meet approved health standards. Official reports were filed on the operations, and the violating lands were sealed with red wax, prohibiting replanting until all legal and technical conditions are met.

The Ministry affirmed that it will not tolerate any violations that threaten public safety, stressing that human health and the quality of agricultural production are red lines.

It added that its technical teams continue to work in full coordination with the judiciary and security agencies throughout Lebanon to ensure the enforcement of laws and the protection of both farmers and consumers.
