LEBANON (Enmaeya News) - November 3, 2025

The Global Health Institute at the American University of Beirut (AUB) officially launched the Certificate in Epidemic and Pandemic Preparedness, the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, during the Epidemic and Pandemic Preparedness Forum 2025, held under the theme “Strengthening Global Health Security – Preparedness as a Foundation for Proactive Action".

The forum brought together experts and policymakers to discuss ways to enhance regional cooperation and readiness for future health emergencies.

Speakers, including representatives from the World Health Organization, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, and AUB, emphasized the importance of strengthening national capacities, integrating artificial intelligence, and adopting a proactive approach that links early warning systems with community preparedness.

The new certificate program is a self-paced online program designed by regional experts to empower health professionals and strengthen their ability to respond effectively to future crises.
