The Chinese startup Lonvi Biosciences, specializing in longevity research, is developing anti-aging pills based on natural compounds extracted from grape seeds.

According to The New York Times, Lonvi Biosciences’ Chief Technology Officer, Liu Qinghua, stated that living up to 150 years has become possible and could become a reality within a few years.

Lonvi Biosciences, headquartered in Shenzhen, southern China, focuses on developing a drug based on the natural compound “Procyanidin C1 (PCC1)” extracted from grape seeds.

The company’s approach is based on research published by scientists in Shanghai, where experiments showed that PCC1 extended the lifespan of mice by 9.4% and increased their survival period since the start of treatment by 64.2%, by selectively eliminating senescent cells.

Liu Qinghua confirmed that living to 150 is indeed realistic but also emphasized that the company remains skeptical of claims that modern medicine can completely eliminate death.
