Dozens of citizens and representatives from non-governmental organizations gathered outside the Ministry of Public Works and Transport on November 18, demanding immediate action against ongoing violations along Lebanon’s coastline.
The sit-in, organized under the banner of “The Coast for All” campaign, highlighted widespread encroachment on public maritime property and adjacent areas from the south to the north of the country.
Demonstrators called on Minister of Public Works Fayez Rassamni to take responsibility for enforcing existing laws and protecting Lebanon’s coastal zones.
The protest comes amid growing concern among environmental groups, civil society organizations, and local communities over the degradation of Lebanon’s coastline.
