LEBANON (Enmaeya News) - November 22, 2025
At the COP30 climate summit, over 80 countries came together to support a strong call for a global roadmap to phase out fossil fuels. This proposal pushes governments to move away from oil, gas, and coal and speed up the shift to clean energy.
However, Lebanon was not included in the list of countries supporting this call. None of the major reports mentioned Lebanon as part of the coalition, which shows that the country did not join this effort.
The push for a fossil-fuel phase-out is seen as one of the most important developments at COP30. While many countries say the world must act quickly, others, including major fossil-fuel producers, have resisted or questioned the proposal.
