Lebanon’s Industry Minister Joe Issa al-Khoury told a United Nations conference on Monday that his country is “open wide” for industrial investments, as he called on global partners to help revive Lebanon’s battered economy.

In his address, the minister highlighted Lebanon’s strategic location as ideal for both near-shoring and off-shoring of industrial services, economic models that relocate production either close by or abroad to drive efficiency.

He also emphasized the strength of Lebanon’s highly educated, multilingual workforce, its innovative society, and creative talent.

The minister laid out a comprehensive national strategy, launched just two weeks earlier, that aims to reform Lebanon’s industrial sector. Its key pillars include infrastructure modernization and building an attractive, competitive environment for investors.

He said the government is opening “broad doors” for investment in five high-potential industrial clusters: food and beverages; consumer and cosmetic goods; creative industries; advanced technology; and pharmaceuticals, including medical cannabis.

On technology, Khoury emphasized that Lebanon welcomes AI and robotics manufacturing, urging international partners to seize the opportunity.

During his trip to Riyadh, the minister held high-level meetings with key figures such as his Saudi counterpart, Bandar bin Ibrahim al-Khorayef, as well as with UNIDO Director-General Gerd Müller,  underlining his commitment to forging cross-border industrial ties.
