The Ministry of Agriculture has launched a program to distribute olive saplings free of charge to farmers registered in the Agricultural Register. This initiative is part of the Ministry’s plan to support the olive sector and enhance local production.
The program follows an organized mechanism to ensure that the saplings reach the largest number of beneficiaries in the South Governorate. Each registered farmer can receive up to 20 saplings, according to the approved terms and criteria.
The distributed saplings include varieties suitable for cultivation in different areas, most notably: Souri, Qaisi, and Khadiri.
In this context, the South Agriculture Directorate has begun distributing olive saplings to farmers who meet the requirements. The distribution follows an organized system to maximize reach within the districts.
The Ministry confirmed in a statement that: “This program represents a supportive step for farmers, contributing to expanding olive cultivation areas and improving production quality, thereby enhancing food security and strengthening the rural economy in Lebanon”.
