Lebanon (Development News) – December 11, 2025

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education continues its national data collection initiative to update information on staff in public schools and secondary institutions, ensuring standardized practices and accurate data entry in accordance with the latest directive. This effort is part of the ministry’s commitment to building a reliable and precise national database that contributes to enhancing transparency, supporting planning, and informing decision-making in the education sector.

In a statement, the ministry highlighted that, “To achieve this goal, the Ministry’s IT Unit, in coordination with the Minister’s Office, organized a national webinar attended by over 650 school principals and administrative staff from across Lebanon. The webinar provided detailed guidance on data collection via the SIMS and NSL platforms, as well as verification and auditing procedures, ensuring that all schools adhere to standardized and accurate data entry practices”.

The ministry emphasized that this initiative represents the first step in a broader strategy based on data-driven planning, under the supervision of the Strategic Planning Unit, newly established within the Minister’s Office.

Through this unit, educational initiatives will be directed within a unified and sustainable strategic framework, strengthening governance and enabling the ministry to shift from crisis response to leading reforms grounded in vision and reliable data.
