Prime Minister Nawaf Salam emphasized during the launch ceremony for the upgrading of public hospitals that “the health sector in Lebanon has been the primary guarantor of people’s right to life. It stood firm throughout the crises, with services never halting and standards never declining. As a government, we will not allow any patient to wait for hours outside hospitals or be denied entry because they cannot afford to pay.”
He added: “I salute all workers in public and private hospitals. Despite the scale of the crises, access to healthcare in Lebanon remains far better than in many countries around the world.”
Salam stressed that “sustainability is not a favor but a duty. Therefore, we will work on developing long-term strategies for equipping and funding public hospitals.”
