LEBANON (Enmaeya News) - December 13, 2025

Telecom operator Touch reported a significant increase in network usage and customer engagement during the visit of Pope Leo XIV to Lebanon from November 30 to December 2, 2025, following the company’s preparations to enhance network coverage, data services, and customer support.

According to a company statement, Touch’s customer service teams in Jounieh, Byblos, and the main Beirut office, as well as at Beirut Airport and the call center, assisted over 11,000 subscribers who visited the branches or contacted the call center between November 29 and December 2.

Network traffic also surged, with data usage exceeding 400% at most visited sites and reaching 865% in Anaya.

The results reflected Touch’s operational plan, which included setting up four mobile base stations (MBTS) and a fifth at Martyrs’ Square to cover the papal Mass at Beirut’s waterfront, in addition to enhancing voice and data capacity at key sites in Anaya, Harissa, Bkerke, and the Presidential Palace.

Touch confirmed that the network performed at a success rate exceeding 99% for voice and data connections across all main visit locations.

The company also introduced a special visit package offering 1 hour of calls and 3GB of data for $1, which attracted over 60,000 subscribers.

During the visit, approximately 5 million calls were made on the network, and total data usage exceeded 1.6 million gigabytes.

Touch said these results highlight the effectiveness of its strategic planning and network enhancements in ensuring seamless connectivity during major national events.
