Lebanon (Enmaeya News) – December 22, 2025

The sixth French Arab Economic Summit was held under the patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron and organized by the French Arab Chamber of Commerce, under the title “Water and the Environment: At the Heart of Needs, Crises, and Opportunities in the Arab World”.

Lebanon was represented by Environment Minister Tamara El Zein, who participated in a dialogue session on water, focusing on sectoral needs and investment priorities.

El Zein addressed the structural challenges facing Lebanon’s water sector, pointing to governance gaps, weak management practices, and the absence of a unified national water information system as key obstacles to effective water management.

She also emphasized the need to integrate climate-related disruptions into water planning, noting that this work is being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Water, the authority responsible for managing the water sector.
