LEBANON (Enmaeya News) - December 25, 2025
The Council of Ministers has appointed Majed Mneimneh as the new Chairman of the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL).
Mneimneh succeeds Mazen Soueid and will lead IDAL in promoting Lebanon as an investment destination and facilitating new investments.
Established in 1994, IDAL aims to promote Lebanon as a key investment destination and to attract, facilitate, and retain investments across the country.
Its role was reinforced by Investment Law No. 360 of 2001, which sets investment rules, provides incentives and support to investors, and highlights key sectors with strong potential, including agriculture, agro-industry, industry, IT, media, technology, telecommunications, and tourism.
In addition to its investment promotion role, IDAL actively markets Lebanese exports, particularly agricultural and agro-industrial products.
The agency enjoys financial and administrative autonomy and reports to the President of the Council of Ministers, who exercises a tutorial authority over its activities.
Alongside Mneimneh, the Council named Zeina Zeidan, Abbas Ramadan, Fadi Halabi, Rony Syriani, Reem Derbas, and Hassan Halabi as members of IDAL’s board, signaling a reshaped leadership team for the agency.
The newly appointed board is expected to enhance IDAL’s capacity to drive investment initiatives, support private sector growth, and strengthen Lebanon’s competitiveness in regional and global markets amid ongoing economic challenges.
