WORLD (Enmaeya News) - December 27, 2025
Expected to become a defining driver of the global economy, artificial intelligence (AI) has moved beyond experimental applications in 2025, embedding itself into business operations, public services, and strategic decision-making worldwide.
Experts describe the year as a transition from exploratory use to systematic adoption, where AI increasingly influences finance, politics, and geostrategic power.
Dr. Ahmed Banafeh, an AI and digital transformation expert at San Jose State University, told Sky News that 2025 represented a pivotal shift. AI transitioned from a futuristic concept to an everyday reality, affecting work, education, healthcare, media, and politics.
The year also saw the rise of an “AI economy,” in which success depends not only on innovation but on infrastructure, data-processing capacity, energy efficiency, and the ability to convert AI capabilities into sustainable profits.
Stock markets reflected these dynamics, as valuations of AI-driven companies were increasingly determined by real-world performance rather than speculative potential.
Looking to 2026, AI is expected to evolve into smaller, specialized models targeting sectors such as healthcare, law, energy, and supply chains, prioritizing accuracy and error reduction over technical spectacle.
Dr. Hussein Al-Omari, a Silicon Valley AI specialist, told Sky News that 2026 will emphasize practical application, governance, and sustainability.
“The question is no longer whether to use AI, but who controls it, sets its rules, and owns the infrastructure that underpins it,” he said.
