United Arab Emirates — The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) has launched Falcon-H1 Arabic, a new large language model designed specifically for Arabic.
According to TII,the applied research arm of Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), Falcon-H1 Arabic is now the top-performing model on the Open Arabic LLM Leaderboard (OALL).
Falcon-H1 Arabic is available in three sizes allowing it to be used across different technical and infrastructure needs.
TII said the new model offers improvements in data quality, Arabic dialect coverage, and long-text understanding.
Faisal Al Bannai, Adviser to the UAE President and Secretary General of ATRC, said the launch reflects the UAE’s commitment to developing advanced and responsible artificial intelligence that supports the region’s linguistic and cultural needs.
TII CEO Dr. Najwa Aaraj said the model aims to support sectors such as education, healthcare, governance, and business, by enabling high-quality AI tools in Arabic.
The model also supports very long context lengths of up to 256,000 tokens, allowing users to analyze lengthy documents such as legal files, medical records, or academic research without losing context.
Falcon-H1 Arabic is now available to the public through TII’s online platform, strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a key center for Arabic AI research and development.
