LEBANON - Google Transit is now officially available in Lebanon for the first time, marking a significant step forward for daily commuting and public transportation access across the country.
Google Transit is a feature within Google Maps that helps users plan trips using public transportation. It’s like a digital guide for buses, trains, subways, ferries, and sometimes trams.
The new service allows users to plan trips using public transport through Google Maps, offering route options, transit lines, estimated travel times, and step-by-step directions.
For commuters long reliant on informal knowledge and word-of-mouth to navigate buses and shared transport, the feature introduces a clearer, more structured way to move around cities and between regions.
Google Transit integrates available transit data into its mapping platform, enabling users to search for routes, identify the appropriate lines, and compare options in real time.
