Lebanon — The Lebanese architecture firm AAA (Atelier des Architectes Associés) has won first prize in the Public Buildings category at the Arab Architects Awards 2025 for its transformation of the ALBA–University of Balamand campus in Dekwaneh.

Selected from 42 submissions across the MENA region, AAA’s project was praised for turning a constrained urban site into a vibrant, functional university hub that combines academic, social, and public spaces.

The competition, organized by the Association of Arab Architects, honors outstanding architectural projects across the Arab world and is held every two to three years.

Previous editions were hosted in Beirut in 2018 and Amman in 2022, with the 2025 ceremony taking place in Cairo.

The ALBA campus project, initially designed in 2014, reflects AAA’s approach to creating dynamic, context-sensitive architecture that responds to urban challenges while emphasizing aesthetic and functional excellence.

AAA’s recognition at the Arab Architects Awards reinforces Lebanon’s presence in regional architectural innovationand showcases the country’s ability to produce world-class design in educational and public infrastructure.
