WORLD - OpenAI, the company behind the artificial intelligence application ChatGPT, has announced a new set of tools designed to help healthcare professionals perform their tasks more efficiently.

According to OpenAI’s blog, the new tools will enable doctors to access research studies, provide general health guidance and clinical guidelines with clear references, and assist in reviewing patient data.

The company stated that healthcare providers using these tools must exercise caution to ensure that the chatbot which may sometimes appear inaccurate delivers precise advice to specialists, while maintaining patient privacy laws.

ChatGPT for healthcare relies on GPT-5 models, which OpenAI says were specifically designed for this purpose and evaluated through standardized medical tests.

When announcing the launch of the new tools, OpenAI said they aim to ease the unprecedented pressure facing the global healthcare sector.

The company noted that demand is increasing, doctors are burdened by administrative workloads, and vital medical knowledge is scattered across countless sources. At the same time, the adoption of artificial intelligence in healthcare is gaining momentum, driven by its potential to help address these challenges.

It added: “Advances in models have significantly improved AI’s ability to support clinical and administrative work in real-world settings, such as helping doctors personalize care using the latest evidence”.
