WORLD- A survey conducted by Randstad found that four out of five workers believe artificial intelligence will affect their daily tasks in the workplace, with Generation Z among the most concerned, amid companies’ increasing reliance on AI-powered chatbots and automation.

In its annual report, Randstad said that job vacancies requiring “AI agent” skills have surged by 1,587%, indicating that AI and automation are increasingly replacing low-complexity transactions and roles.

The survey covered 27,000 workers and 1,225 employers, in addition to analyzing more than three million job postings across 35 markets.

Labor markets are under immense pressure as companies worldwide intensify job cuts, alongside declining consumer confidence, following the disruption caused by the tariff war led by U.S. President Donald Trump and his sharp shifts in foreign policy.

Technology companies focused on artificial intelligence have begun replacing jobs with automation, at a time when most businesses are still waiting for tangible returns from an unprecedented wave of AI investment expected to reshape the business world for years to come.

Randstad’s survey data also showed that nearly half of the workers interviewed fear that this emerging technology will benefit companies more than it will the workforce.
