LEBANON – As Lebanon continues to face overlapping economic, social, and security pressures, evidence-based analysis is more critical than ever.

Over 200 experts from UN agencies, donors, local NGOs, and partner organizations convened for the Tensions Monitoring System (TMS) Panel Discussion, titled “2026 Briefing and Discussion with TMS Partners.”

Speakers highlighted that the TMS, generously funded by the European Union and Denmark, serves as a collective, conflict-sensitive mechanism and data portal.

The system supports do-no-harm approaches, enables more effective responses, and contributes to social stability across Lebanon.

The discussion, co-hosted by the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, the Ministry of Social Affairs, UNDP, and UNHCR, examined how data and analysis can strengthen crisis preparedness, inform timely decision-making, and help prevent and reduce social tensions across Lebanese communities.

The event also showcased the TMS platform, its latest knowledge products, and a preview of a scenario-informed tensions analysis for 2026.
