Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, announced a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Beirut on Monday.
The funding is intended to help address Lebanon’s chronic power shortages and support broader economic stability amid a prolonged financial and institutional crisis.
President Aoun welcomed the Qatari support, expressing appreciation for Doha’s continued role in assisting Lebanon as it faces economic, social, and energy-related challenges.
He praised Qatar’s efforts to stand by Lebanon during difficult periods and emphasized the importance of international cooperation in supporting the country’s recovery.
