LEBANON - The Parliament approved Lebanon’s 2026 state budget on January 29, two days ahead of the legal deadline, securing 59 votes in favor, 34 against, and 11 abstentions during the parliamentary session.

According to the approved framework, the 2026 budget focuses on ensuring the continuity of state institutions and covering recurrent expenditures, including public sector salaries and wages, pensions, and essential operational costs of public administrations.

The budget includes spending reallocations and adjustments to certain taxes and fees, but does not yet address long-standing infrastructure challenges or wage disparities.
