LEBANON – Lebanon will participate in the Global Education Forum 2026, following a meeting between Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Rima Karami and representatives of the British Embassy and the British Council in Lebanon.

During the meeting, the British delegation formally invited Minister Karami to attend the forum, the world’s largest gathering of education ministers, scheduled to take place in London from May 17 to May 20, 2026.

The 2026 forum will be held under the theme “Education for a Shared Future: Peace, Planet, Purpose, and Pathways,” highlighting the role of education in fostering resilient, inclusive, and future-ready societies.

Officials noted that the theme aligns with Lebanon’s education priorities amid ongoing efforts to strengthen the sector.

The delegation included Victoria Dunne, Deputy Head of Mission and Development Director at the British Embassy in Lebanon, and Maisa Daoui, Country Director of the British Council in Lebanon.

They reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation with Lebanon’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
